Kristen McGowan (LEED Green Associate)
Sustainable Relocation Strategist

Born and raised in Boston Mass, Ms. McGowan moved quite often due to the nature of her father’s work in relocation services. Throughout Ms. McGowan’s schooling, she spent (11) summers working in the relocation industry; performing work in most aspects of the industry including; claims, account administration, dispatch, operations, account maintenance, household estimations and national account maintenance.

After gaining extensive, multifaceted experience working in the relocation industry, Ms. McGowan pursued a career in Hospitality Management specializing in new builds and openings. Ms. McGowan was a member of the opening team for the newly constructed Hotel Alex NYC. It was during the construction of the Alex Hotel that Kristen was able to fine tune her skill sets with strong emphasis on integrated project management, brand positioning and market placement.

McGowan hit the ground running, once again, in the relocation industry; bringing all of her event sales & planning, hotel & restaurant as well as her HR experience with her. She began to work in the sustainability aspect of this field, a sector that she became passionate about. In early 2010, in conjunction with Nadino Cino, LEED AP she developed the Consortium on Sustainability; an alliance of professional organizations which has united in an effort to help relocating companies to use the move as the conduit through which best practices flow. Due to this focus on sustainability, Kristen has become a certified LEED Green Associate.

Ms. McGowan joined The Advance Group in August 2010 in the capacity of Director of Business Development with a focus on large accounts. Her strong foundation in the relocation business coupled with her LEED certification make Kristen a valued addition to The Advance Group team.
